What are the differences compared to all other amplifiers?
Pulse Modulation Amplifiers are also called Digital amplifiers and Switching
Amplifiers, because digital pulses control the power conversion, instead of an
analogue signal. Compared to all other known amplifiers, the eAR power
amplifiers have infinitely more benefits. We will just mention a few benefits:
Excellent sound quality
Compared to all other switching or digital amplifiers, the eAR amplifier doesn't
have a single touch of 'digital' sound, but the sound is very much natural
analogue with great details and will give your speakers a tight and extremely
fast bass; a more detailed soundstage than you have ever heard before, and an
extremely dynamic sound. According to High-End reviewers: Best sounding
amplifier of all amplifiers. Excellent sound quality means that the eAR
amplifiers are truly capable of audiophile-grade audio performance, as has been
demonstrated in comparative listening A/B tests against several high-end
audiophile amplifiers.
Low power consumption
The eAR Amplifier output stage has an efficiency of 93% and it never runs hot.
Let us put it in this way: The eAR Amplifier power conversion is the most
precise way to perform highly efficient amplification. The eAR amplifier uses a
technology, which will perform far better and be much more precise than any
other technology. The unit needs only a relatively small power supply. This
results in a very strong reduction in cooling requirements. The transformers,
even compared to "normal" amplifiers are completey oversized. The
power consumption of a "normal" high-end amplifier could easily exceed
200 watts in stand-by, with no music played! On eAR the power consumption will
not exceed 20 watts! One of the benefits is a much lower electricity bill!

Compact design
Since the amplifier unit is very, very small, but from a power-rating point of
view a monster, the signal path in total is extremely short. Even given the fact
that the amplifier is very compact, with the eAR Two it is possible to deliver
up to 2 x 600 watts. That gives you enough power for even the most difficult
speaker load, and the highest volume setting. The design is compact without
sacrificing, or compromising the quality of the audiophile sound. As the
amplifier only measures 38 x 28 x 12 cm, it is small, because of the fact that
no cooling or huge power supply is necessary. The benefit is a very compact
unit. The best-known, High-End amplifiers from Mark Levinson and Krell, are very
large, in most cases approximately 45 x 30 x 70 cm or more, and weigh 150 lbs.
Bigger and more weighty is not necessary the same as "better".
The eAR power amplifier does not contain any chips to do the modulation, but is
built with active and passive high quality components.
No power supply noise
Extremely high Power Supply Rejection Ratio (PSRR). The advantage, compared to
other digital amplifiers on the market is that noise from the power supply will
be muted at least 60 dB. Power supply noise is therefore no longer an issue. The
benefit is a more stable soundstage, more delicate sound, and much more relaxed
performance of strings - just to mention a few. The power amplifier by itself is
totally quiet, as there is no cooling fan or other cooling devices normally
implemented in huge amplifier designs, just to prevent them for running too hot…..
No cross-over distortion
As the amplifier does not have any problems with noisy cross-over distortion,
which all other analog amplifiers have, the distortion rating is very, very low,
and is not dependent on the listening level. The benefit is that you will always
have clean and very dynamic sound, the result of a THD + N on typical 0.006%.
Indeed very low.
No InterModulation distortion
Intermodulation distortion is when two or more different input frequencies
interact to produce additional frequencies in the output. Compared to for
example Solid State or Tube amplifiers the InterModulation Distortion of the eAR
power amplifiers is the lowest you have ever heard. The benefit is an amplifier
that is able to produce very complex music with the finest details, even on very
low volume levels... on all volume levels.
Quiet amplifier
The noise level of the amplifier is very low. In fact, the dynamic range
(Aweighted) is typically 117dB. The benefit is an amplifier, which is almost
totally free from noise on all volume levels, even very low levels.
The fastest transients
Because the eAR power amplifiers are using ICEpower® technology they are able
to produce the fastest transients of any power amplifiers (the eAR power
amplifiers have very low harmonic distortion and are almost without
InterModulation distortion). The benefit is an amplifier that is able to produce
very fast and dynamic music with any volume level.
Specifications of eAR Two MK1
The output impedance is extremely low, far lower than any
amplifier using another technology and it is properly the lowest in the World.
It means a far higher damping factor than any Solid State and tube amplifier.
The dynamic range of the A-series is also extremely high and is truly high-end:
117dB.
Compared to for example the dynamic range of Super-Audio-CD (SACD) players:
108dB
Check out solid state amplifiers and you may see it is uncommon to see
amplifiers with a dynamic range better than 100dB.
The distortion of the eAR Two is extremely low, just 0.009% when playing with 100 WATT RMS.

eAR Two stereo power amplifier
Aiming to meet the uncompromising expectations of our users all over the world,
we continuously strive to develop and improve the well-known build quality. This
is why the internal build quality of the eAR power amplifiers has been improved.
Further, the connector cave to the eAR power amplifiers has been improved. All
connectors of the new connector cave have been re-arranged. It is now easier to
access the connectors. All interconnects may have large size too.
The eAR amplifiers can easy handle a load of only 2 ohm or even 1 ohm
electrostatic speakers (verified too), which means all type of loudspeakers can
be used.
Adjustments and maintenance
Remove finger prints with soft cloth. A spray with stainless steel cleaner
can be used to remove finger prints too. There is no further adjustments or
maintenance of eAR amplifiers.
Safety and EMI
The eAR amplifiers are CE marked. All international EMC/EMI requirements are
meet too.
To meet all international safety and therefore to be able to sell the eAR Two power
amplifier in countries all over the world we have chosen to use touch proof SPEAKON loudspeaker
connectors. SPEAKON is used in all major recording studios.
