Forget MP3. It is a compressed sound format with a bad sound quality (no life and no details). Use the lossless WAV or FLAC sound format and you have a better sound format than the CD audio format.

The special happens after the CD file has been ripped to the hard disc Many people do not realize that the CD-ROM format is different than the CD audio format. The CD-ROM is designed for computer data files, where a single bad bit may cause a program to crash. Therefore it uses a higher level of error correction than that used on an audio CD. The audio CD is more than 25 years old, an eternity in digital technology and much better error correction would be used today.

eAR Music is a music client/server especially optimized for lossless music playback to the audiophile listening room. Therefore is it dead silent and cool running. It has a build-in CD (and DVD) transport to be used during ripping, or to be used in case you want to listen to a new CD before you store it on eAR Music's hard disc.

The music collection is on the hard disc. With eAR Music you don't have to search through your traditional music CD collection or insert a CD to play it, just select the ripped CD on eAR Music's hard disc with the remote and then enjoy the music.
