Triangulo Speakers

Triangulo is a 3-way loudspeaker (it can run in 4-way mode too), and it is sealed box speaker design with built-in subwoofers. Triangulo is 180cm (71 inch) high and is very powerful.

Drivers
The driver units of the Triangulo speakers are most expensive drivers ever handmade in Denmark. The midrange has been especially developed to the Triangulo speakers.

The cabinet
The technology platform of the Triangulo speakers is the cabinet and the design is patented. The speakers uses a tetrahedron cabinet for many reasons including its aesthetic value. A tetrahedron is an equilateral pyramid, but it has only three sides and a triangle bottom, not four sides and a square bottom like a pyramid. As no standing waves occur in a tetrahedron it is a cabinet without preferences to resonance-frequencies. Inside the cabinet acoustic waves can never amplify one another in phase and are reflected by the inside walls under ever-changing angles. By listening briefly it quickly becomes apparent that it is not a conventional cabinet like for example a tube, pipe, or square box.
The 7.5 degree angled cabinet, in combination with the natural acoustic behavior of the driver units, ensures phase linear radiation (acoustic time-alignment of the driver units). This means there is no time difference of the sound coming from the bass unit and the tweeter unit. The very slim profile of asymmetrical cabinet also helps to avoid diffractions and maximizes sound spreading. Further, the slim form ensures a very stiff cabinet.

Finish
The Triangulo speaker has no loudspeaker cloth, but you can see the fine driver units. The finish of the speakers is matt black.

Digital crossovers and power amplification
A pair of the Triangulo must be powered by six or eight channels of the eAR power amplifiers. The eAR Master One, connected to a PC and the power amplifiers, is controlling the sound. The digital crossovers are running in software on the PC.
